Partial comprehensive credit reporting
The Australian Credit Reporting System
Credit reporting is the sharing of information between credit providers and credit reporting bodies about the lending products you have.
Credit reporting can be shared by all types of credit providers – this includes financial lenders like banks, credit unions and finance companies. It can also include businesses that sell you things on credit, however most telco, water, gas and electricity companies don't yet share this information.
Australia’s credit reporting system has changed significantly as a result of legislative reform over the last few years. These changes, referred to as comprehensive credit reporting, affect what’s on your credit report and what account information and repayment history information can be accessed by credit providers about your credit history.
