How can I fix my bad credit?

A credit report is a document that shows a detailed record of your credit activity and credit history, so there is no quick fix way to remove any missed payments or defaults shown on your credit report.

It takes time to show that you are managing your credit commitments responsibly, but there are some steps to take to be more in control of your credit health:

  1. Make sure you are really disciplined about paying all your bills on time.

  2. Contact your lender for assistance if you are struggling to make your account repayments.

  3. Your credit report will have a 24-month record of how you pay your existing loans. So, keep your payments up-to-date.

  4. Consider getting advice from a professional financial counsellor, you can start building the foundations for smart debt management and improved credit health.

  5. Don’t open too many credit accounts at once.
